The Polish national commercial station Polsat has confirmed that it will launch it long-awaited news channel in June. Speaking to the local press, Polsat’s owner Zygmunt Solorz-Zak said that the channel – whose name he refused to confirm as Poslat News – would cost in the tens of millions of zloty to set up. It will be distributed by cable operators and the proprietary platform Cyfrowy Polsat, which currently has around 2.2 million subscribers. The channel will compete directly with TVN’s TVN24, by far the most popular thematic channel in Poland.
