Dolce reaches new heights

The number of subscribers to the Romanian DTH platform Dolce rose by 50% in the year to March 31, 200, ending the first quarter at nearly 750,000. On the other hand, its operating company Romtelecom saw a fall in revenues of 8.1% in the same period, down from ˆ219.2 million to ˆ201.4 million.
The Romanian incumbent telco Romtelecom lists its Greek counterpart as a 54.01% shareholder, and results published by the latter refer to the initial uptake of its new IPTV service Conn-x TV, launched in February, as “successful” without providing a subscriber figure.
OTE’s ADSL subscriber total nevertheless rose by 19.4% in the 12 months to March 31, 2009, ending the first quarter at 1,028,360.
The Greek telco’s revenues in Q1 2009 were meanwhile 5.4% down on those 12 months earlier.
