Disney-owned US broadcast network ABC is to make its top shows available free of charge over the Internet as part of the two-month trial. Programmes including Lost, Desperate Housewives, Commander in Chief and Alias will be streamed to over broadband connections following their network premieres. Programmes from SoapNet and Disney Channel will also be made available. The programmes will contain advertising that cannot be skipped. In parallel, ABC is continuing with the distribution of a handful of shows over the Apple iTunes service, where viewers can download the programmes commercial free for a $1.99 fee.
