Spanish broadcaster Sogecable achieved a turnover of ˆ436.6 million in the first quarter of the year compared to ˆ395.5m in the same period last year. Revenues generated from new DTT channel Cuatro, ˆ30.9 million, represent the main reason for this increase in turnover, together with the increase of pay-TV subscribers that contributed ˆ12 million in one year. However, Sogecable also announced a net loss of ˆ20.1 million for the first quarter. During the quarter, Sogecable added 25,000 new net clients for digital satellite platform Digital+, bringing the grand total to more than 1,985 million subscribers compared with 1,960 million on December 31, 2005.
