A controversial new TV channel aimed at children aged under three could be available in the UK by the end of the year. BabyFirstTV has just launched in the US on satellite service DirecTV and reports suggest it could launch in the UK on Sky Digital by Christmas. The channel has been greeted with scepticism by some, who see it as a free babysitting service for children that health campaigners argue should not be watching TV at all. Programmes are colour coded to indicate the educational value. Shows include 'I Can Sign!', where parents can learn sign language with their children, and 'Colour Symphony' to help babies fall asleep.
